Back to School: January 2021
Dear Parents / Carers
On the morning of 31st December 2020 the Minister for Education issued a statement altering the
approach to reopening schools in early January 2021.
- From week beginning Monday 4 January:
Primary school pupils will be taught remotely until 8th January, after which they will attend school for face-to-face teaching from Monday 11th January 2021. - The first day of the normal school term can be used to prepare for the rest of the week. This means that: Kirkinriola Primary School Pupils in P1-7 will be taught remotely from Wednesday 6th January 2021.
- During this time vulnerable children and the children of key workers can attend their own school for supervised learning. This means that: Kirkinriola Primary School will open for vulnerable children and children of key workers on Tuesday 5th January 2021 - Friday 8th January 2021, 8.45am- 2pm. Please use this link https://www.education-ni.gov.uk/general-guidance-covid-19-schools to check if your child is eligible for this provision and if so, please email me @ emccaffery943@c2kni.net , before Monday 4th January at 3pm, to organise a place.
Due to the timing of these alterations, all staff at Kirkinriola Primary School have been required to re-engage with work during their planned holidays and I would like to thank them most sincerely for their dedicated commitment to our pupils. Our growing school is truly blessed with the biggest heart.
May I also take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year filled with hope, love and joy.
Kind regards,
Emily McCaffery
